Dune Tournament 2025 at Dice Tower West

Where: Westgate Hotel Las Vegas

When: March 6th-9th, 2025

What: Last year 30 competitors fought for the title of “Ruler of the Known Universe” we of the Landsraad are ready to bring forth yet another tournament for the people. Many players enjoyed the con and have expressed great interest in coming back just for the Dune tournament. With all of that enthusiasm it was easy to make changes and improve for all of you. There were free give aways last year; this year we have more in store. Every player that enters into the tournament will receive a badge of the faction that they played. On top of badges earned by warring as your faction and trophies for the winners of the tournament there will be player sheets for each classic faction and the “Fixed Ix” so that players have accurate faction sheets that are clearly worded.

How: Last year End Game reports were filled out clearly which gave excellent data for faction stats. This year the judge will take a more active roll by totalling up win attempts for each game. The new number one tie breaker will be win attempts this year which incentives players to go for the win and make some moves. The Landsraad council has also taken a few precautions against cheating. There was no foul play observed, however, we figured we would have a head start to make a disincentive to prevent such things. Games started on time last year, with a 15 minute speech at the beginning it helped that all of the players were there early. Having attended the world championships for Dune in Pennsylvania twice and having extensive talks with the legend, Brad Johnson the host & organizer for Dune tournaments for +20 years, our group has a much better organization method and the tournament will run that much better this year.

Why: After seeing all of those smiling faces and hearing the abundant laughs the reasons piled up. It could have been a one time thing but then what about all of those gamers who came for conquest and found comradeship. People were so excited about the badges, several of them told me that they will collect them all! The members of the Landsraad have spent a lot of money on this tournament, they even pay to go to the convention, and yet they did it again this year. What can we say, the community is incredible, they make it all worth it. We will never stop Duning so join us for another year of conquest and comradeship on the sands of Arrakis.
