Dune Tournament 2025 at GenCon
Where: GenCon Indianapolis at the Indianapolis Convention Center
When: July 31st to August 2nd, 2025
What: With a couple of tournaments under our belts the Landsraad is proud to present the Gencon Tournament! A lot of players enjoyed playing the expansion factions at our other tournaments, while some still prefer the classics. To bridge this gap we bring to you classic dune with Stronghold Bonuses. These bonuses only vary the game slightly yet uphold the integrity of Classic. Not introducing any new mechanics Classic can be experienced with a slight twist with a more open board and a bit more resounces, but not too many! Classic Dune already exists at the WBC run by Brad Johnson, so instead of doing the same thing we thought we would bring something different to the table for people to try.
How: There are three heats (games), the six players with the most points (wins) will progress to the finals. You do NOT need to play in all three heats. You will need to sign up for each game individually. Since the rules for Dune are complicated here is a clarified rules set that will be used in the tournament - Landsraad Tournament Rules. We will be playing Classic Factions with the Shield Wall variant as well as the Landsraad Stronghold Cards. Newer players are welcome; players are expected to be familiar with the rules. There will be a judge to answer any and all rules questions, he is not there to teach the game.

- Day 1 = Thursday, July 31, 2025

- Day 3 = Saturday, August 02, 2025
- Day 4 Final (Invitation Only) = Sunday, August 03, 2025
Why: We of the Landsraad love Dune, we want to share that passion for the game with everyone else. With a Classic tournament already out there Stronghold Bonuses are innocent enough to add to not scare away any Classic loyalists but give the expansion lovers a little variety. For a couple years now I as Judge and facilitator have enjoyed watching people plot and plan to take over the universe. Even though I am not able to play allowing everyone else to be able to play in a structured event makes it all worth it. Gamers came all the way across the country just for our last tournament so we are going to make this one bigger, have more free give aways, and have a lot more fun.
